As background, SDA Designs are a commercial interior design company, established in 1987. In addition to the normal fitout area of Commercial Interior Design, we have developed a unique expertise in the design, specification for CCRs on both land and sea, for the Mining, Oil and Gas industries.
In our design process, we take into consideration the following items and design accordingly.

- Fire regulations
- Noise abatement
- Air conditioning and dust control.
- Lux levels and lighting layout.
- Furniture and seating – particularly related to ergonomics.
- Permit to work systems and control thereof
- Mimic Boards
- Emergency control response boards and operation.

- Information display technology. Lengths of throw and angle required for the operator.

This hasn ’t been achieved overnight, it has taken us years to build up the expertise to accommodate all components of a CCR and a lot depends on the brief we are given.
With refinements in technology over the past few years, the old hardwiring of the past being replaced with DCS systems, the demands on the design consultant have become critical. To plan a room to accommodate the changes without being off line, and end up with a totally ergonomic room that does the job, is where our expertise lies.
